National Advisory Committee for Stroke
Overview
The National Advisory Committee for Stroke (NACS) is a national group which coordinates implementation of the Stroke Improvement Plan. The Committee convenes three times a year and aims to promote Scotland-wide collaboration, peer support and dissemination of best practice:
The remit of the NACS is to:
- co-ordinate and evaluate implementation of the Stroke Improvement Plan
- oversee the development of national stroke strategy
- provide expert advice to the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates
The NACS is chaired by Professor Martin Dennis, Professor of Stroke Medicine at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Edinburgh. The NACS includes representation from clinicians, the third sector, professional groups, Managed Clinical Networks and research / academic fields.
