Marine Scotland are developing a proposal with North Sea Commission seeking funding to create a trans-national partnership. This partnership, called the North Sea Maritime Forum, aims to bring together all users of the North Sea and provide an opportunity for dialogue on matters of mutual interest, leading to better integration of all marine activities.
Stakeholders were invited to an inaugural meeting on 29 August 2011, which featured speakers from Marine Scotland and a number of other organisations.
The Terms of Reference for the Forum and forward work plan will be available in due course and more information is available from the North Sea Commission website or by contacting northseaforum@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.
