Marine Scotland is involved in a number of cross-Administration and multi-organisational groups and Committees.
- the Marine Science Co-ordination Committee (MSCC) was established in 2008 and is co-Chaired by Marine Scotland. In MSCC the UK Government and devolved administrations steer marine science and monitoring for the UK as a whole, including
- the Marine Environment and Information Network (MEDIN), which aims to establish a national framework to achieve a more co-ordinated approach to managing marine data and information, thus becoming a 'data warehouse' within which all marine data, irrespective of source, could be stored and accessed easily; and
- the Marine Climate Change Impacts Partnership (MCCIP), which aims to develop a long-term multi-disciplinary approach to understanding and communicating the implications of climate change in our seas.
Wiithin Scotland, Marine Scotland is also a member of the Coordinated Agenda for Marine, Environment and Rural Affairs Science (CAMERAS) Partnership, which aims to co-ordinate science resources effectively so that it addresses Government policies and priorities and it is delivered efficiently and effectively.
