South East IFG

South East Inshore Fisheries Group (IFG) was one of the first three pilot IFGs to be launched. An initial meeting of the South East IFG's Executive Committee took place on 27 January 2009 in North Queensferry, and there have been further meetings held since.

Fishermen's Associations which have registered an interest in the South East IFG, appointing a representative to the Executive Committee, are as follows:

  • Anglo-Scottish Fishermen's Association
  • Cockenzie and Port Seton Fisherman's Association
  • Fife Creel Fishermen's Association
  • Fishermen's Mutual Association (Pittenweem) Ltd
  • Mallaig and North West Fishermen's Association
  • Scallop Association
  • Scottish Creelers and Divers Association
  • Scottish Static Gear Association
  • Scottish White Fish Producers Association Limited
  • The 10 meter and Under Association

Additionally, there is a seat on the Executive Committee for an elected representative of fishermen who are not members of Fishermen's Associations.

A Local Coordinator and Chairperson were appointed in May 2009. They are as follows:

  • Nick Main - South East IFG Executive Committee Local Coordinator
  • George White - South East IFG Executive Committee Chairperson

Meetings

Minutes of IFG Executive Committee meetings will be made public once approved as an accurate record by the Group.
