Area Management Agreement
Signed in 2001, the AMA is now in its eighth year since it gave formal recognition to the co-operation between wild and farmed salmon interests that had prevailed since 1985 in the Carron Salmon Fishery District. The results have been; full control of the sea lice problem, synchronisation of farm production, and the dramitic restoration of wild salmon and sea trout to the River Carron under the guidance of Bob Kindness of the Seafield Centre (Inverness college UHI).
In addition to the signatories of the AMA, representatives from the Lochcarron Community Council and the Highland Council are invited to attend all meetings of the AMG.
