A crucial part of the AMA is encouraging information exchange amongst all stakeholders within a Management Area, and this information will be collected and collated by the RDO. In anticipation of this, the RDO has visited the Kames Fish sites in Loch Slapin, Loch Dunvegan and Loch Bay, and anticipates visiting the remaining Skye fish farms within the next month. These visits allow the RDO to explain the AMA process to the workforce, in order to facilitate a fuller understanding of AMA commitments by those actually working on the sites.
Rregular site visits will be conducted, in particular to carry out independent lice counts. However, these visits will also give an opportunity to fish farmers to update their information regarding AMA development and requirements and to present any problems or queries to the RDO.
