Rural Priorities - Update on Summer 2009 funding round

Update on Rural Priorities Summer funding round

A number of enquiries have been received about the Summer assessment round for Rural Priorities, to be held in August 2009. We hope that the following clarification, agreed with our partners, will avoid any confusion.

This funding round will be the same as previous rounds, in that RPACs will consider proposals relating to all aspects of Rural Priorities.

However, the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and Environment has recognised the key role that the SRDP has to play in Scotland's economic recovery, and has made £10 million available specifically for spend on capital items across all elements of Rural Priorities during the remainder of this SRDP financial year (to be claimed before 31 December 2009). The £10 million is over and above the budgetary position for forestry and other funding streams indicated in the budget table of 23 April. This includes capital works for spend in 2009, which are associated with agri-environment annual recurrent options that will run from 1 January 2010.
