Why do we inspect Single Farm Payment claimants? Fields

Under the current EU legislation the Scottish Government must inspect at least 5% of all Single Farm Payment claimants to verify claimed information. All the inspections that the Scottish Government carry out are done using a Global Positioning System.

What do we look for?

On farm the inspector will :

  • Verify Field Boundaries
  • Establish if fields are being fully used
  • Calculate exclusion areas
  • Inspect specific crop/land classifications
