Introduction

General

This section reviews what constitutes a properly completed application form.

1.1 Section I of the application form is to be completed with details of the applicant, the business and the unit or units to which the application relates.

1.2 Section II asks the applicant to record the existence of any Scheduled Ancient Monument or designated Designed Landscape on the land to be entered into the RSS, and of any management agreements with Historic Scotland or SNH.

1.3 Section III collects details of the management options that the applicant proposes to adopt under the scheme. The information sought includes the location and area of each habitat to be managed and allows recording of the calculated payment for each management option. All management payments will be due before the end of the second quarter of each financial year.

1.4 Section IV collects information about the capital options proposed under the scheme. The quarter of the year when each capital item payment is expected to be claimed is recorded in this section.

1.5 Section V relates to claims for reimbursement of Environmental Audit and Moorland Management Plan costs.

1.6 Section VI collects other details required in order to allow ranking of the application.

1.7 The final page of the application form includes the declaration which must be signed by the applicant(s) or by an authorised agent or farm manager where the application form has been completed or part completed by them. This page includes a warning that on acceptance of the application the undertaking with the Department is binding. It makes clear the possible consequences of the provision of false or misleading statements or any actions taken to prejudice the agreement.
