Where we are now
Consultation document
- Develop draft options and write consultation document, using research and seminar to inform (April-end May)
- Publish Consultation document and research (mid June)
- Responses due in 12 weeks (by mid Sept)
Engaging communities
- We will forward the consultation document to stakeholders we know about
- Publish on Scottish Executive website:
- Continue to advertise on 'One Scotland website' and using information leaflet:
- Consider ideas generated from seminar to try to maximise engagement
- Ask seminar attendees to continue to engage with the consultation and to advertise within their own networks
Further information
- Summary note of the seminar outcomes to all attendees (by end April)
- Consultation and research report to attendees when published (mid June)

Steps following consultation..
- Analyse responses and design classification system for piloting (Mid Sept - Early Nov)
- Pilot in Census Test (Spring 2006)
- Review results & make any refinements (2006/07)
- Publish report including recommendations for system to be used in 2008 rehearsal (2006/07)
