BESAC (03)2 - DRAFT REPORT TO SCOTSTAT BOARD ON 'KEY STATISTICS, TARGETS AND PERFORMANCE INFORMATION'
1. At its meeting on 3 February 2003 the SCOTSTAT Board discussed how it could assess the contribution it could make to thinking on the range of key statistics, targets, milestones and performance indicators which exist across the Scottish Executive and other organisations. As a contribution to its initial thinking the Board has asked its Support Group to contact Committees and collect information on the range of existing indicators.
2. This paper covers a spreadsheet giving a draft return to the Support Group on key statistics, targets and performance indicators for the Built Environment. The draft pro-forma provides details on the following sets:-
- Targets for the Built Environment in 'Building a Better Scotland'.
- Those Social Justice targets which may be of interest to BESAC.
- Accounts Commission Performance Indicators for Housing as published in the 2002 Direction.
- Top level indicators identified by the Homelessness Monitoring Group.
3. Members are invited to comment on the draft:-
- Are the detailed comments on the pro-forma a fair statement of key statistical issues in relation to each indicator/ target.
- Are there other statistics/ sets of indicators we should be covering? The list at present is mainly focused on Scottish Executive targets.
