Proposed Agenda
1. Welcome and introductions
2. Minutes of last meeting and actions arising (paper for information - Organisational chart SCOTSTAT 6/03)
3. Key Statistics and Performance Indicators (SCOTSTAT 7/03 and SCOTSTAT 8/03)
Purpose: To discuss the first attempt at producing a matrix of PI/Key Stats by Committee, and agree what further work is required.
To consider the proposed skeleton for the development of guidance based on the 'Getting It Right' paper, and discuss how this should be taken forward, particularly in light of the Executive's work on developing an approach for target setting.
4. Statistical Surveys (oral update)
Purpose: To report on progress of the group considering potential harmonisation and integration of population/household surveys in Scotland.
5. Demonstration of Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics website
Purpose: To provide an introduction to the new SE SNS website facility
6. Survey of Users and Producers of official statistics (SCOTSTAT 9/03)
Purpose: To present the board with the final report on this web-base survey and discuss and agree any further action required.
7. Summary of Committee reports on 2002/3 and plans for 2003/4 (SCOTSTAT 10/03)
Purpose: To present outputs/achievements in 2002/3 and planned objectives for 2003/4 for each individual SCOTSTAT Committee, and to identify any relevant issues which the Board would like to raise with the Committees.
8. National Statistics Issues (oral report)
Purpose: To update the board on issues relating to the Statistics Plan, the Code of practice and Protocols, and provide an opportunity for discussion and clarification.
9. Priority Issues For Board (SCOTSTAT 11/03)
Purpose : To agree priority issues to be addressed before next Board meeting
10. Public sector bodies on statistical standards (SCOTSTAT 12/03)
Purpose: To discuss and agree that the draft letter should issue from SE
