Improvements

Changes to improvement Collections

Private Sector Improvement and Repair Grants no longer existed in their current form after 31 March 2010.

The IMP1B collection was discontinued from this point onwards, with the last forms received covering 2009-10.

We will continue to collect information from the IMP1A to monitor those grants paid under the 1987 act for 2010-11. This will then also be discontinued. Links to the IMP1A, IMP1B and IMP3 forms are provided below for information only.

..............................................................................................................................

IMP1A (quarterly): Discretionary and mandatory grants for house conversion, improvement and repair (private sector)

Please continue to submit IMP1A during 2010-11 for grants approved under the 1987 act (i.e. prior to 1st April 2010)

This monitors the amount of private sector grants paid (rather than approved) for house conversion, improvement or repair. It seeks information on the number of dwellings on which final grant is paid, together with the amount paid and the type of grant involved. This return was revised for 2004-05 as a result of legislative changes in 2003.

There are two versions of this return available for use, a new spreadsheet based return for those of you who would like to be able to submit the returns by email, and a pdf version, which should be faxed, or sent by post. If possible, please use the spreadsheet version.

IMP1B (monthly): Discretionary and mandatory grants for house conversion, improvement and repair (private sector)

Please submit IMP1B only to cover the period until March 2010. Do not complete IMP1B for grants approved in 2010-11 (i.e. under new legislation)

This provided information on applications for private sector grants approved for either mandatory or discretionary grants. The information is widely used in monitoring the extent of improvement activity, including the extent to which BTS housing is being tackled through the use of grants, and the types of work being carried out. This return was revised for 2004-05 as a result of legislative changes in 2003.

Please note that details of applications approved for all private sector conversions, improvements and repairs should be included on this form.

As with the IMP1A, there were two versions of this return available for use: a spreadsheet based return and a PDF version.

IMP3 (annual): Housing Action Areas: annual progress report

This return was collected for the last time for 2009-10 to capture progress on any remaining Housing Action Areas.

This return provided detailed information on the progress of housing action areas. It was used in monitoring the extent to which HAAs are used and the extent to which they contribute to dealing with housing in poor condition. Summary information was collected for each Housing Action Area on the number of dwellings on final resolution and number on conclusion of HAA, action to date, including demolitions, improvements, dwellings acquired and the number of dwellings improved by agency eg owner occupier, private owners etc.
