Quarterly Survey

Each quarter the Scottish Government carries out a survey of Local Authorities asking for information on:

  • Eligibility Criteria and Waiting Times
  • Free Personal and Nursing Care
  • Care Homes
  • Home Care

These are not classified as national statistics but provide useful information on the trends in between the annual NS data collections.

Quarterly - Information

The spreadsheet below contains quarterly information on:

  • Long Stay Care Home residents (Available from April to June 2002)
  • Home Care clients (Available from April to June 2004)
  • People receiving Free Personal and Nursing Care (Available from April to June 2002).

Quarterly - Data Under Development

Work has been on going with Local Authorities to develop a new data collection relating to the Eligibility Criteria and Waiting Times of people receiving Free Personal and Nursing Care.

The paper below presents analysis of the data collected in each quarter from January/March 2010 to October/December 2010. It also details the results of a questionnaire issued to Local Authorities, these results are being used to identify differences in collection methodologies and gaps in the guidance.

It must be noted that the data presented is still under development and is not comparable between Local Authorities. Work is still continuing to finalise the data definitions and guidance material.
