Care Homes
Information on Care Homes was collected by the Scottish Executive between 2002 and 2009 by means of a national annual census. This is now collected by the Care Commission and published by ISD Scotland. The census covers all Care Homes in Scotland which are registered with the Care Commission. These may be private, voluntary or run by Local Authorities.
Prior to this, information on Residential Care Homes was collected by the Scottish Executive while information on Private Nursing Homes was collected by ISD Scotland.
Tables on Care Homes providing detailed Local Authority figures and trends are available as follows below. Future updates will be released by ISD Scotland and they are currently planning to release more detailed analyse from the 2010 census later this year.
