NESAC Work Plan 2011/2012

Main activities / outputs / outcomes for 2011/2012:

  1. Further discussion on revising the contents/presentation of SESO and KSES.
  2. Discussion of Official Statistics on the environment in Scotland published by other organisations.
  3. Continued exchange of information between the Scottish Government and the various agencies represented in NESAC on current and forthcoming developments in the supply and use of environment statistics.
  4. Continued discussion of National Indicators and the Menu of Indicators used to support Single Outcome Agreements.
  5. Relate information on statistics and their quality to policies to help identify gaps in statistics for monitoring the effectiveness of environmental policies.
  6. Consult with users of environmental statistics to determine the extent to which their needs are being met. Raise awareness and promote use of current environment statistics publications.
  7. Continued discussion of presenting a physical environment domain within Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics and the collection of related statistics.
  8. Continued discussion of a long term objective, monitoring ecosystem services and how they are valued.
  9. Discuss issues relating to the UK Statistics Authority assessments of SESO and KSES, which is now due to begin in mid-2011.
