Main Findings
Retail sales in Scotland grew by 0.7 per cent in real terms during the fourth quarter of 2011.
On an annual basis, comparing the most recent four quarters to the previous four quarters (4Q-on-4Q), retail sales grew 0.7 per cent in real terms.
- The volume of Retail Sales at constant basic prices in Scotland grew by 0.7 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2011 and grew by 0.7 per cent annually (seasonally adjusted).
- The value of Retail Sales at current basic prices in Scotland grew by 0.8 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2011 and grew by 3.5 per cent annually (seasonally adjusted).
Retail Sales in Great Britain:
- The volume of Retail Sales in GB grew by 0.9 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2011 and grew by 0.3 per cent annually (seasonally adjusted).
- The value of Retail Sales grew by 1.3 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2011 and grew by 3.4 per cent annually (seasonally adjusted).
