A review was undertaken following the large number of data requests submitted for consideration by the Civil Judicial Statistics (CJS) Review Project. The requests were initially categorised as either 'mandatory', 'priority' or 'non-priority' and this was followed by a thorough ranking exercise to assess the level of 'priority' and compile a core dataset.

This core dataset has now been agreed by representatives of the CJS Review Project Board and a process of consultation with a wide range of data suppliers to assess current availability is ongoing. The results of the discussions with data suppliers will be presented to the CJS Review Project Board in September 2010.
