Please find below Maps at Local Authority level for the Manufacturing and Retail sectors.
The first Map, "Gross Value Added per Employee in Manufacturing" shows the variability of labour productivity across the Local Authority areas in Scotland. The Map shows that Falkirk, Moray and West Dunbartonshire Local Authority areas had the highest GVA per employee in 2009 - this will be driven by the types of manufacturing industries concentrated in these areas.
The other two Maps on "Shares of Gross Value Added" are calculated by dividing each Local Authority areas' GVA (in Manufacturing or Retail) by Scotland's total GVA for that sector to create a percentage, which is then represented as a banding within the Maps.
Gross Value Added per Employee in Manufacturing by Local Authority Area: 2009
Share of Gross Value Added in Manufacturing by Local Authority Area: 2009
Share of Gross Value Added in Retail by Local Authority Area: 2009
