Right to Buy Sales Working Group
The purpose of this web site is to give readers access to all documents related to the work of the group, in particular the papers and minutes of meetings, and to keep group members informed of the arrangements for future meetings. The first meeting of the group was in December 2002.
This working group reports to the Built Environment SCOTSTAT Committee ( BESAC or Built Environment Statistics Advisory Committee). SCOTSTAT is a new network for users and providers of Scottish Official statistics and aims to improve communication amongst those interested in particular statistics and facilitate the setting up of working groups on specific statistical issues.
Remit
To agree on the information which should be obtained about each sale of a socially rented property to a sitting tenant; if necessary separating out different information sets for different types of sale.
To agree the mechanisms for obtaining/collating and storing this information for analysis in the future. In particular this will cover agreement on:-
- means of ensuring full coverage of all relevant sales;
- any subsequent geographical referencing to be added to the supplied data;
- means of ensuring that the data also meet Communities Scotland's administrative needs for information on sales of properties supported by HAG.
- To agree how this information will be summarised, disseminated between partners and published. This would include agreement on the statistical information to be made available through the Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics project.
