Cars

Commentary

Since the survey started in 1999, the percentage of households without a car has fallen from about 39 per cent to about 30 per cent, and the percentage with two cars or more has risen from roughly 17 per cent to around 25 per cent.

The apparent quarter-to-quarter fluctuations in the figures may well be the result of sampling variability. Quarter-to-quarter changes should therefore be interpreted with caution.
