Frequently Asked Questions:
What is CEATnet?
CEATnet is a virtual forum that focuses on improving the policy evidence base for Culture, External Affairs and Tourism research areas. It encourages collaboration and co-operation between its core members: the Scottish Government, Non-Departmental Public Bodies and agencies, working in these policy and delivery areas. Through its wider membership, it hopes to build dialogue between external organisations interested in these areas and the national and international research community.
Who is involved?
CEATnet consists of a core Working Group, comprising Scottish Government policymakers and analysts in Culture, External Affairs and Sport, the sponsored Non-Departmental Public Bodies and other related agencies, all of whom are research funders in these areas. The wider community that is invited to register on the CEATnet webpages of the Network comprises external organisations interested in such areas of research, including consultants and academics.
Why does it exist?
There is a need to develop and collect further information on the impacts of policy areas that include culture, international issues, cultural events, tourism, diaspora, national identity, Gaelic and Scots language and migration. Related organisations have indicated that there is scope for more co-operative working and partnerships to research and evaluate initiatives relating to those policy areas and to collect data.
Who is it for?
Everyone who is interested in using and improving research and evidence in CEAT research areas.
