Disability
Providing access to the arts for people with disabilities should be a priority in any research or policy that deals with arts and culture. Like in any other policy area, ensuring access and alternate ways to enjoy arts and culture are key ways to encourage disabled people's participation and involvement in the arts and culture sectors. As the Scottish Arts Council points out, thinking proactively about ways to better serve disabled people is not only a legislative mandate, it also makes sense from a business and moral point of view.
