UPDATE ONEVENTS SINCE LAST MEETING ON 16 MARCH 2009
This note provides a note of events since the last meeting of the Older People's Consultative Forum on 16 March.
March-April See the person, not the age campaign ran again over 4 weeks
1 April Age Concern Scotland and Help the Aged in Scotland merge to
become Age Concern and Help the Aged in Scotland

21 March Borders (Galashiels Academy) - 120 attended
23 March Perth (Perth Concert Hall) - 130 attended
20 May Dumfries and Galloway (Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries) - 100
attended
5 May Aberdeen (Carmelite Hotel) - 100 attended
3 June Edinburgh (Corn Exchange) - 125 attended
Together with the 250 who came to Glasgow on 14 November, and the 70 in Inverness on 3 December, 900 older people from across Scotland attended these events.

Scottish Parliament with Sir Tom Farmer and Bill Jamieson,
Executive Director of The Scotsman.
7 July UK Advisory Forum on Ageing - first meeting, London
13 July Building a Society for All Ages published
The UK Government announced it is bringing forward the review of the Default Retirement Age to 2010 to reflect
changes in economic circumstances since its introduction in 2006.
