In 'Standing for Office: Time-Off Entitlements and Encouraging Civil Engagement, The Scottish Government's response to the Consultation', the Scottish Government sets out its next steps for encouraging more and different people to take up specific civic governance roles as an important facet of empowering our communities.

It follows on from the consultation document, 'Standing for Office: Time-Off Entitlements and Encouraging Civil Participation', published in December 2008. A summary of responses to the consultation is also available.
