Standards for Inspections

Standards for Inspections sets out the detailed criteria HMIP uses to appraise and inspect.

The standards are based upon sources such as Human Rights Treaties, Prison Rules and the European Convention for the Prevention of Torture.

Freedom of Information

Freedom of Information sets out revisions to Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons for Scotland's publication scheme as required by Section 23 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA). The purpose of the scheme is to provide details of the range of information that are routinely published by HMIP. The scheme also set out how the information can be accessed.
