Police Force Projection Study

On March 5, 2009, the then Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced to Parliament that the Scottish Government was undertaking a police force projection study. The study works from police officer numbers for 31 March 2008 and factors in projections for recruitment, retirals, and other leavers.

FOI - 23 March 2009 - These documents have been released in response to an FOI request dated 10 December 2007 for all papers provided to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice or the Minister for Community Safety in connection with the Scottish Government's commitment to provide an additional 1000 police officers, and any emails or correspondence circulated within the Justice Department on this issue. The position has been superceded with the publication of the police force projection study on 28 March 2009.

FOI - 29 December 2008 - The document provides information on correspondence from police forces which confirms the recruitment of 150 additional officers in 2007-08. It also provides an extract of the minutes from meetings of the Additional Policing Capacity Programme Board.
