Purpose of the circular: To provide forces with guidance on the implications of the extension of the employment provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 to police officers with effect from 1 October 2004.
Summary of contents: Police Circular 2/2004 provided a brief introduction to how the employment provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 will affect the police service. The documents attached to this Circular provide general guidance for managers together with more detailed information on how the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act will impact on the police service in Scotland in relation to:-
