The National Community Safety Strategic Group (NCSSG) was formed in 2008 and is chaired by the Minister for Community Safety, Fergus Ewing MSP. The Group meets twice yearly, bringing together the key people from the key community safety organisations and was set up to:
- Understand the issues facing the public and professionals in relation to community safety;
- Understand the response to these issues from key agencies and, where possible and through discussion, agree a collective response; and
- Identify and communicate good practice.
