The Safer Streets programme has sought, over the longer term, to encourage Community Safety Partnerships to build capacity, encourage innovation and deliver sustainable change in dealing with alcohol related violence and disorder, particularly in the night time economy. The types of outcomes we are looking for you to achieve include:
- Reducing alcohol related crime, disorder
- Diverting young people from alcohol related crime and disorder
- Reducing the fear of alcohol related crime and disorder, and increasing community reassurance
- Strengthening partnership working through joint work to tackle alcohol related crime and disorder.
All of Scotland's Community Safety Partnerships are able to apply for funding from the Scottish Government to help ensure that people going out for the night can enjoy themselves in a safe environment. £400,000 is being made available for projects from November 2010 to March 2011.
