Legislation and Data Sharing
The Scottish Government has produced guidance for criminal justice organisations to advise them on the requirements of legislation (in particular the Data Protection Act) in relation to sharing data.
Information Sharing Protocols
Each of the ISCJIS partners has signed up to the following protocols for sharing information.
Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service Protocol
Protocol for the investigation/resolution of disputed data between the Police Forces and the Procurator Fiscal Service.
Scottish Court Service Protocol
Protocol devised by the Scottish Court Service for the handling of errors which occur in the transmission of data between ISCJIS partners.
Protocol for the Implementation of Direct Measures
The object of this protocol is to outline the framework of agreed processes for the implementation of Direct Measures, the interaction between agencies and to agree procedures to deal with the unforeseen. A number of Direct Measures process maps have also been produced.
