Co-ordinating IT and Management Information (CIMI) Project Board

Reporting to the Making Justice Work Programme Board, the CIMI Board has overall responsibility and authority for the Co-ordinating IT and Management Information project. Chaired and led by the Scottish Government, the Board represents the interests of service users, stakeholders and service organisations. The information management and data exchange strategy will be delivered by the criminal justice delivery organisations; activity the Board will delegate and direct through multi-organisational working groups.

Subgroups

  • JSITS

The Justice Systems IT Solutions (JSITS) group addresses technical issues related to the electronic transfer of information between ISCJIS organisations.

  • Scottish CJX User Group

The Criminal Justice Extranet (CJX) is the network connecting the police and criminal justice community. This group provides an opportunity for CJX users to discuss service issues with the service provider, Cable and Wireless.

  • Digital Evidence Group

This group is investigating the use of digital evidence in court. This includes investigation into the use of PowerRetrieve, DAS and crime scene animation software. The group has agreed certain standards for digital evidence.

  • Data Protection & Security Group

This group periodically reviews ISCJIS security policy.

  • SPR2 Business User Group

This group brings together users of SPR2 with a view to resolving existing issues and discussing new developments.
