Annual Work Programmes 2007-2013
In February 2007, the European Parliament and the Council decided to establish the 'civil justice' and 'criminal justice' programmes to strengthen the area of Freedom, Security and Justice over the period 2007-2013. The budgets allocated for the period are civil - in excess of €100 million and criminal - approximately €200 million.
Each year the annual work programmes (AWPs) set out the priorities, criteria and budgetary implications. Based on these work programmes, the European Commission launches annual calls for proposals to co-finance the implementation of Trans-national projects (action grants) or to support the activities included in the annual activity programme of eligible organisations (operating grants). The Commission also publishes calls for tender to implement actions it takes on its own initiative.
