Scottish Appropriate Adult Network Co-ordinators Group
Terms of Reference
Aim:
The aim of the SAAN Co-ordinators Group is to provide a network through which Appropriate Adult Services can be supported to develop and meet National Standards and provide a consistent level of service delivery across Scotland.
Objectives:
The objectives of the SAAN Co-ordinators Group include, but are not limited to:
- Sharing of best practice
- Identifying areas of need
- Maximise shared resources and knowledge
- Maintain awareness of legislative changes and distribute relevant information to services
- Provide input and direction to the Strategic Group
- Provide feedback to the Strategic Group
- Support the introduction and attainment of the National Standards
- Support and influence the implementation of a National Training Standard
Meetings:
Meetings will be held on a quarterly basis and the location rotated amongst each Appropriate Adult Service.
Chair:
The chair will be nominated from the membership of the group and be in seat for a period of two years following which nominations will again be sought.
A vice chair will also be nominated in the same manner.
Secretariat:
The secretariat of the SAAN Co-ordinators Group will be provided by the chair.
Membership:
Membership of the SAAN Co-ordinators Group shall consist of:
- All Scottish Appropriate Adult Co-ordinators (or equivalent)
- A representative from each Scottish Police Force
Representation on the Scottish Appropriate Adult Network Strategic Group:
The Chair of the SAAN Co-ordinators Group will represent the interests of the group on the SAAN Strategic Group and ensure a comprehensive information exchange between the two groups.
The Chair of the training sub group, and any other working sub groups established from the Co-ordinators Group, will also represent the interests of the relevant sub group on the SAAN Strategic Group.
