Joseph T O'Donnell, HM Chief Inspector
Joe joined the Procurator Fiscal Service in 1975 and has held appointments in various parts of Scotland including spells at the Scottish Law Commission, Crown Office Policy Unit and recently was the Procurator Fiscal at Ayr and the Senior Assistant Fiscal at Glasgow.
Joe was appointed as the Chief Inspector of Prosecution for Scotland in 2004 having previously been the Director of the project to establish an independent inspectorate for Scotland.
Carolyn Sharp, Personal Assistant to HM Chief Inspector
Carolyn joined Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) in January 2002 having previously worked for Glasgow City Council in secretarial and administrative roles. She worked within Glasgow Procurator Fiscal's Office as Fiscal Officer and latterly deputised as PA to Area Procurator Fiscal.
Carolyn joined the IPS in October 2003.
Kate Neill, Business Inspector
Kate joined Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service in 1986 and worked in administration at the Dumfries, Ayr and Glasgow Procurator Fiscal Offices. She transferred to the Crown Office Internal Audit Unit in September 1994 where she qualified as an internal auditor and remained there until she joined the Scottish Executive Audit Services in December 2004.
Kate joined the IPS in July 2005.
Fiona Carnan, Legal Inspector
Fiona joined the Procurator Fiscal Service in 1986 after qualifying in private practice. Her first posting was in Linlithgow, followed by a move to Glasgow in 1988. In 1991 she moved to Hamilton Procurator Fiscal Office and remained there (apart from a career break from 1992 to 1997) working as a Depute, then Senior Depute in all sections of the office, with lengthy spells working in the District and Area Death Units. In 2007 following NITA training, she became one of the COPFS Advocacy trainers.
Fiona joined the IPS on secondment from COPFS in October 2008.
Carol Cameron, Legal Inspector
Carol joined Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service in 1997 from a private practice background. She worked predominantly in Glasgow before being seconded to Learning and Development Division in May 2008. A NITA trained advocacy trainer she delivered advocacy training, domestic abuse and vulnerable witness training as well as legal modules to trainees and new staff. As part of Learning and Development Carol was also involved in delivering training outwith COPFS to criminal justice partners and others.
Carol joined the IPS on secondment from COPFS in September 2010.
