Unfortunately, airgun attacks on animals are all too common and often lead to serious injuries and deaths. Cats and wildlife tend to be the most common victims of these senseless and cruel attacks.

From January to September 2010, 128 incidents were reported to the SSPCA Animal Helpline. The majority of these calls related to wild animals, particularly swans and other wild birds, but there were also 18 reports of domestic cats being targeted.
