HR Work Plan

Joint Future Human Resources Group Work Plan

Since it's first meeting in March 2003 the JFHRG has considered the recommendations set out in the Integrated Human Resources Working Group report and developed priority areas that need to be tackled.

The work plan for the JFHRG is as follows:

  • Organisational Development - to support local partnerships with the development of modern joint services

The JFHRG has supported local partnerships through visiting individual forums, setting up appropriate networks around the JF agenda and ensuring HR issues are well understood.

  • Education and Training - to implement IHRWG recommendations

The JFHRG mapped national joint education provision and implemented action plans for joint training and education at national events for key stakeholders and providers.

  • Support of JF Agenda through Expert Advice and Recommendations

The JFHRG has ensured that through its advice and reports the JF agenda is supported and appropriate advice is circulated to all the key stakeholders.

  • Communication - to ensure effective development of JF agenda at local level

The JFHRG shares best practice and practical experience between forums by hosting networking events, producing newsletters and ensuring local staff forums are aware of the progress on the JF agenda.

  • Terms and Conditions and Professional Accountability and Supervision - to ensure effective working across joint services

The JFHRG has produced and distributed position statements on terms and conditions issues. It has also investigated issues around pensions problems.

External consultants have been appointed to carry out a formal assessment of the work of the JFHRG. The group will be assessing whether a national direction has been established and if the guidance is clear and practical. The final report will also include proposals on what further national guidance may be required for Joint Future staff forums to help implement the Joint Future performance assessment framework.
