Funding Guides for Major Housing Adaptations

Background

The Scottish Government issued revised guidance on the provision of Equipment and Adaptations in December 2009. Within this guidance we committed to developing a range of guides detailing the different ways of funding a major housing adaptation.

The first phase was to develop a guide to help professionals better understand the different funding options available. This has now been published, and is available on our publications page .

Phase two was to develop a range of leaflets for the public. Following a full public consultation we have now published a suite of four leaflets, details below.

The Guides

These leaflets detail the different funding arrangements available to fund changes to a property to make it more accessible. The funding is for major adaptations to the home - these are significant, permanent changes to the structure of a property, i.e. widening doors, fitting a ramp etc. to make it more accessible for a disabled person, or someone with mobility problems.

Hard copies are also available. Please email equipmentandadaptations@scotland.gsi.gov.uk if you would like to order any of these leaflets.
