The following eight bodies are the statutory professional Regulatory Bodies for the healthcare professions in the UK. The Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence (CHRE) is not, strictly speaking, a regulatory body but has a role in overseeing the UK regulatory bodies.

General Dental Council

Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

Health Professions Council (HPC)

Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (to be replaced by the General Pharmaceutical Council later this year)

General Optical Council

General Chiropractic Council

General Osteopathic Council
