  • Establishing the business case for diversity management relating to the workforce
  • Providing advice to NHSScotland with regard to employment duties contained within existing and emerging Equalities legislation
  • Providing the necessary expertise to ensure that the Workforce Directorate achieves compliance with equalities legislation.
  • Providing advice to NHSScotland with regard to the recommendations of the BICHARD review.
  • Providing secretariat support to the Diversity Task Force.
  • Developing a Volunteering strategy that supports recruitment and retention.
  • Development, implementation and monitoring of branding framework for NHSScotland for workforce policy, recruitment, and all workforce development initiatives

Recruitment and Attraction

  • Partnership Agreements relating to recruitment (nos. 420, 421, 441)
  • Leading on development and implementation of: Determined to Succeed; NHSScotland component of Employability Framework (including Closing the Opportunity Gap target and Incapacity Benefit Reform)
  • Development of national recruitment and career marketing campaigns.
  • Development of new recruitment activities and mainstream to NHSScotland
  • Delivery of national on-line recruitment and induction function.
  • Development of best recruitment policies for all staff groups for NHSScotland (and communicating this)
  • Explore and research potential new services for recruitment with other parties (eg wider public sector) and develop and maintain strategic alliances with external partners
