
Jacqui Lunday was appointed as the Chief Health Professions Officer in April 2006 and before that first Allied Health Professions Officer in the Scottish Executive Health Department in September 2002.
She is responsible for the provision of advice to Ministers and the Government on professional matters affecting the nine Allied Health Professional (AHP) Groups and the 51 Healthcare Science Professions as well as the development and implementation of related policy areas.
Jacqui is based within the Directorate of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions and works closely with colleagues from a range of departments across health, education and social care.

The AHP Officer for Education and Workforce provides professional leadership across the Allied Health Professions, supporting and advising the Chief Health Professions Officer (CHPO), the Chief Nursing Officer and the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing on matters relating to the Allied Health Professions. The AHP Officer leads a portfolio of work that will deliver the policy and development priorities for AHPs in Scotland.
Allied Health Professions Partnership Working Development Officer

The AHP Partnership Working Development Officer has been seconded for two years (June 2008-June 2010) from NHS Lothian, Speech and Language Therapy. The post holder sits within and works closely with officials from the Support for Learning Division as well as the Chief Health Professions Officer (CHPO) and AHP Officer colleagues in the Chief Nursing Officer Directorate and the Child and Maternal Health Directorate. The AHP Officer leads a portfolio of work to improve partnership working between AHPs, mainly Therapy services, and education/school staff. The secondment enables the post holder to provide advice and support on policy relevant to children and young people and works closely with an equivalent colleague from education/schools.

The National Programme Manager for the 'Delivery Framework For Rehabilitation' leads on the implementation of this policy document. The Delivery Framework for Adult Rehabilitation in Scotland, published in February 2007, is a joint document for health and social work. It gives strategic direction and support to all health and social care services and practitioners who deliver rehabilitation or enablement services to individuals and communities. The vision underpinning the framework is the creation of a modern, effective, multi-disciplinary, multi-agency approach to rehabilitation services that are flexible and responsive in meeting the needs of individuals and communities in Scotland.
Allied Health Professional Advisor in Mental Health
Elaine Hunter, MSc, BSc, DipCOT, SROT 
The Allied Health Professional Advisor in Mental Health assists in taking forward the development and implementation of national policy and advice to the Mental Health Division and Chief Health Professions Officer on matters relating to mental health services delivered by Allied Health Professions, and to support the development of sustainable clinical teams.
A graduate from St Johns University, York, Elaine has completed further academic study at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. She has practised in the field of mental health in Scotland since 1985, working in a range of clinical fields from acute admission, rehabilitation, psychotherapy, intensive psychiatric care and forensic mental health. She has professional interests in evidence based health care and patient centred treatment and recovery.
