Managed Knowledge Network

Role and Remit of Steering Group

Draft for Discussion August 2007

1. Advise on, support and guide execution of the Rehabilitation MKN project as outlined in the Project Initiation Document, drawing upon the individual expertise and experience of Steering Group members and their understanding of the needs of their own communities and networks.

2. Endorse project plans and deliverables as produced throughout the course of the project.

3. Promote and champion the Rehabilitation e-Library and MKN within the communities and networks represented by Steering Group members.

4. Foster the development of the Rehabilitation MKN and communities of practice through a clear commitment to the principles of accessing and sharing knowledge and applying it to practice.

The Steering Group will support development and delivery of the Rehabilitation e-Library, MKN and knowledge management strategy as outlined in the Project Initiation Document between August 2007 and March 2009. The potential for extension and adaptation of the role of the Steering Group to overseeing implementation of the strategy will be revisited at that time.

The Steering Group will provide a link person to liaise with the overarching MKN Core Development Group, ensuring two-way communication regarding overall development of knowledge management tools and services within the NHS Scotland e-Library.
