National Planning Forum
The National Planning Forum (NPF) is a mechanism for NHS Boards and the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates to jointly agree which planning issues need to be tackled on a 'supra-regional' or nationwide basis and how these are to be undertaken.
The NPF enables a coherent and consistent approach to national planning which seeks to ensure healthcare standards and equity of access across Scotland are maintained, and secures joint ownership of the national planning agenda.
The NPF supports implementation of the Healthcare Quality Strategy for NHSScotland, which sets out our aim of becoming a world leader in healthcare quality, through the pursuit of three Quality Ambitions: person-centred care; no avoidable harm; and the appropriate treatment at the right time. More information on the Quality Strategy can be found at:

The NPF includes members from all 22 NHS Boards and the Scottish Government, as well as representatives from the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, the Scottish Association of Medical Directors, and NHS Board HR and Finance Directors.
