NHS Low Income Scheme

The NHS Low Income Scheme (LIS) is a means tested scheme which can help people who are not exempt on age or medical grounds, or otherwise automatically entitled to help with health costs.

You may qualify for either full or partial partial. If you qualify for partial help you will be required to contribute towards dental and optical charges and hospital travel costs.

Application forms are available from most GP Surgeries, Dental Practices, Community Pharmacies as well as some Job Centre Plus Offices and Citizens Advice Scotland.
