Public procurement is central to delivering the social, economic and environmental benefits that sustainable economic growth demands. In October 2009 The Scottish Government published the Scottish Sustainable Procurement Action Plan, (SSPAP), outlining an organisational approach to achieving successful sustainable procurement. The SSPAP calls on public bodies to produce organisation-specific Delivery Plans that include a timetable for implementing the SSPAP.
