The utilities portfolio covers electricity, natural gas, fuels and biomass, and water commodities. There has been significant progress in this area of work. For example the electricity contract award went live in October 2009, followed by the natural gas contract awarded in December 2009. The electricity and natural gas contracts will offer significant savings to the public sector estimated at between £10 - £15 million per annum.
