News & Current Initiatives - Contact Us - National Category Forum
Software products is a broad area which can be broken down into:
- System or infrastructure software - typically off the shelf core technology packages and it is typically suitable for collaborative procurement at Category A level. Associated Software Support and Maintenance is also in scope of Category A procurement.
- Application Software - solution based software which can be tailored/bespoke to fit individual requirements.
Usually more suited to Category B or C level procurement where specification may vary greatly depending on sector/organisation function.
Software can also be delivered or incorporated as part of a service, e.g., SaaS, bespoke software development, managed services, etc, which are covered under the IT Services portfolio.
