  • Servers
  • Storage area networks
  • Telecoms hardware
  • Peripherals (which are not included at the point of order)

There is a separate framework for Mobile Computing and a National Collaborative Procurement Arrangement for IT Peripherals

This contract was awarded following an OJEU procurement.

Benefits

Savings - The product pricing is significantly lower than current national pricing.

Fixed pricing - Pricing is fixed for the duration of the framework, which will provide budget certainty for public bodies.

Extended product range - The range of products available has been extended to include lower specification devices. · The products are also supplemented by a menu of upgrades, downgrades, accessories and services. It is anticipated that the majority of public sector user requirements will be met through the frameworks.

Coverage - The frameworks will be available to all Scottish public sector contracting authorities, regardless of size or geographical location .

Environmental- To reduce the environmental impact of desktop computing, the latest energy efficiency and environmental were incorporated into the minimum specification.

Transactional Efficiencies -The frameworks will focus on eProcurement, increasing transactional efficiencies for end users.
