Overview

The Scottish Prison Service is leading the procurement for the second generation Occupational Health Service (OHS) Framework which expires 31 August 2012.

The purpose of this contract is to ensure that the continuing needs of the collaborative partners are met with regards to Occupational Health Services.

What is in scope?

Core Services
  • Case referrals;
  • Case conferences;
  • Ill-health retirement assessments;
  • Pre-employment referrals;
  • Regular provision of generic advice.
Non-Core Services
  • Statutory and non-statutory health surveillance;
  • Injury benefits - full pay extension and annual allowance;
  • Health screening;
  • Lifestyle screening
  • Immunisation / vaccination;
  • Workplace assessments;
  • Specialist medicals/examinations;
  • Diagnostic testing and laboratory investigations;
  • Specialist assessments e.g. physiotherapy/osteopathy;
  • Health promotion activities;
  • Overseas work advice;
  • Awareness training and policy development;
  • Home visits;
  • Fast track/emergency appointments.

What is out of scope?

  • Educational psychology issues
  • Therapeutic intervention for mental health
  • EAP services

Who is this available to?

The contract is available for use by the Scottish Government, its associated departments, executive agencies, Non-Departmental Public Bodies (NDPBs), plus the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB), the forestry Commission, the Student Loans Company Ltd, and the Scotland Office.

Note:It is the responsibility of any buying organisation wishing to use the Framework Agreement to satisfy itself that it is eligible to do so. Entitlement can be established from the terms of the OJEU advert and guidance on this can be found in Annex A of Scottish Government Guidance on Framework Agreements. If there is any doubt, legal advice should be sought.

As we have not yet formally entered the procurement process there is an opportunity for other collaborative partners, which are not listed above, to be included. Please contact Lisa Bain ASAP to advise.
