Low Carbon Scotland – SEA

The Scottish Government undertook a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the measures set out in the draft of Low Carbon Scotland . The SEA is required by the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005 .

The main output of the SEA process is an Environmental Report . The Environmental Report identifies Scotland's existing environmental resources and explains how these might be affected by the proposals and policies set out in the draft of Low Carbon Scotland.

The final part of the SEA process is the post adoption SEA Statement.  It outlines how the findings of the SEA and consultees’ comments on the Environmental Report were taken into account during the preparation of “Low Carbon Scotland: Meeting the Emissions Reduction Targets 2010-2022”
